Goal 03 of 04 · Medicaid protection
Protect Medicaid.
Seek reversal of the Medicaid spending reductions in P.L. 119-21 and protect access to care.
What we are working toward
- Track proposals to reverse the cuts and explain what they change.
- Follow coverage and access effects as implementation develops.
- Keep policy advocacy separate from individual eligibility guidance.
Put the nearly $1 trillion estimate in context
CRS reports a CBO estimate of $989.7 billion less in federal outlays from the law’s Medicaid provisions over fiscal years 2025–2034, compared with the January 2025 baseline. This is a ten-year estimate, not an annual cut or a statement that all of that money has already been removed. The total includes a nursing-home staffing provision affecting both Medicaid and Medicare.
