Information We Collect Automatically
- localStorage Data: We use your browser's localStorage to save your progress and preferences through our multi-step tools (the "Benefits Plan"). This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly save your progress.

LocalStorage for user data
Our interactive "Benefits Plan" tools use your browser's localStorage to store data about your progress, selections, and inputs. This allows you to pause and resume Your Benefits Plan without losing your place. This data is stored only on your computer and is not automatically transmitted to our servers. We only gain access to this data if you choose to create an account and explicitly save Your Benefits Plan.
Video Uploads ("Ask Dr. Ed")
If you choose to upload a video through our "Ask Dr. Ed Video" feature, the video file is transmitted to and stored on our secure servers. By uploading a video, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display the video for the purpose of responding to your question. We will not use your video for any other purpose without your explicit consent. Video submissions may be retained for quality control and training purposes.
Payment Processing ("Buy Dr. Ed a Coffee")
We use Stripe for payment processing. When you make a contribution, you provide your payment information directly to Stripe. Stripe's use of your personal information is governed by their privacy policy. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. We receive a token that represents your charge, a record of the transaction, and your name and email address.
Appointment Scheduling (Acuity)
We use Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace company) to manage expert appointments. When you book an appointment, you provide your information directly to Acuity. Their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy. We receive confirmation of your appointment details to manage our calendar and services.
